"Ambassadorial
Drone" is a sculptural version of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV),
which are increasingly used carry out military and policing missions.
Of particular concern is the ratio of intended targets killed to "collateral
damage", and the steep increase in the number of attacks in foreign
wars since 2008. Sources and numbers are well documented here:

While I agree that there are serious security challenges the US is confronted
with, and am aware that using UAV's can reduce soldier casualties, those
benefits are balanced against the chilling costs associated with their
use; civilian deaths, the anti-American sentiment that results, and
the reality that we are now using UAV's for domestic policing and surveillance:

By making this insidious looking sculpture from common household objects
(lamps sconces, security peepholes, model car parts, classic picture
frame,) I hope to draw out the idea that seemingly benign, helpful technology's
can have unintended and dire consequences.
